What is rush?

Rush is a two week period with a series of fun events designed to teach you more about Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.! Rush occurs at the beginning of each semester and participating in rush is the only way to join our organization.

What is a bid?

A bid is an invitation to begin the process of joining our organization!

How can I qualify for a bid?

To qualify for a bid, you must attend one General Interest Meeting and at least one other event during rush week. Once you have fulfilled this requirement, we will offer you an interview to learn more about you, and then offer our bid decision! 

Do I have to be Asian to join?

Nope! We are an Asian-interest, not Asian-exclusive organization. We strongly encourage people of all backgrounds to consider joining. We prioritize creating a safe space for all people to embrace their backgrounds and spread cultural awareness.

What is your view on hazing?

Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. follows a strict anti-hazing policy enforced by the National Constitution and Risk Management Policy and in accordance with university policies and state laws. There is never a moment that Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. would put you in an embarrassing or harmful situation. Hence, our new member process is positive, and focuses on nurturing prospective members to become people of values and vision.
